In October 2012, Soleil Global brought an engaged group of US citizens to Haiti to distribute solar powered lights throughout the Central Plateau and in Port au Prince. The group distributed 400 solar powered lights to children in need as well as farmers in the Central Plateau. This means that 400 households now have clean and affordable light at night and do not need to spend their income on dirty and unsafe kerosene lamps. Children can study safely at night without the threat of being burned by a kerosene lamp. Farmers can use their light to carry out income generating activities at night and they can save money because they no longer need to buy fuel each month. Please take a look at the photo gallery below to see the impact Soleil Global is having in Haiti.
